Who can nominate?
Nominations can be received from any member of the public, another civil servant (subject to the provisions below), and / or anyone who has regular business interaction with the nominee.
A civil servant cannot nominate himself / herself or an immediate family member (mother / father / husband / wife / brother / sister / son / daughter / grandchild).
Who can be nominated?
Each nominee must:
- be an individual civil servant (*) of the Cayman Islands Government;
- be a Cayman Islands civil servant for a minimum of 6 months;
- display customer service excellence (see 'What should a F.A.C.E. recipient look like?')
- service other government customers (ministers, other civil servants, etc.) or public customers.
* An individual civil servant must work for one of the core government departments and/or sections. Public Servants who work for any one of the Statutory Authorities, Boards &/or Committees will not qualify as a F.A.C.E. Award nominee/recipient.

How do you submit your nomination?
When nominations are open, you can submit your application online. Alternatively, nomination forms can be returned by:
- DROP BOX - Located at most post offices, select government offices, the reception desk at the Government Administration Building, and the District Administration Building on Cayman Brac.
- MAIL - The Portfolio of the Civil Service, Government Administration Building, Grand Cayman. KY1-9000, Cayman Islands.
Who will choose the F.A.C.E. recipients?
An independent nominations committee will review all nominations and advise the Governor on whom to choose as the F.A.C.E. of the Cayman Islands Civil Service. The Governor will make all final decisions.
The nominations committee shall consist of one or two representative(s) each from the Complaints Commission, Chamber of Commerce, Cayman Islands Civil Service Association - CICSA (Chair), the Governor’s Office, and the Portfolio of the Civil Service (Secretary).
What is the nominations committee looking for in a F.A.C.E. recipient?
Award recipients will be selected based on their exceptional commitment to customer service excellence. In selecting award recipients, the nominations committee will look for clear evidence that the nominees meet a number of the following criteria:
• Approachable, friendly, helpful, polite, courteous, and understanding;
• Trustworthy, honest, and fair;
• Professional – in both conduct and appearance;
• Flexible – both personally and when providing service(s);
• Knowledgeable and competent;
• Effective communicator (verbal, written, body language, tone, expression);
• Serves clients in a timely manner;
• Displays a clear commitment to providing clients with results;
• Solves problems and effectively resolves conflicts; and
• Demonstrates a willingness to always go the “extra mile” to satisfy clients’ needs.
Overall, each recipient must display that he or she exemplifies customer excellence, as it relates to service delivery within the Cayman Islands Government.
